Lindsey Tootle

Baroque violinist Lindsey Tootle
is a rising talent in the world of historical performance. As a Baroque violinist, she has appeared with Harmonie Universelle (USA) and Seven Hills Baroque, and with members of the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra and New Trinity Baroque, among others. Lindsey co-founded Bama Baroque, headquartered in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and since 2024 has served on Early Music America’s Emerging Professional Leadership Council.
Lindsey studied violin on full scholarship at the University of Alabama and credits her passion for early music to an early childhood fascination with a recording of Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 by Ton Koopman and the Amsterdam Baroque. When not performing, she works as an immigration paralegal, enjoys reading and learning about history, and is a regular and experienced runner. Lindsey is currently based in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she lives with her husband, John, and their very silly cat, Pepper.
Project Spotlight: Bama Baroque
Lindsey co-founded Bama Baroque in 2024 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama along with harpsichordist Dr, Michael Delfin, and friends and colleagues back in Alabama. It is one of the state’s only native, professional historical performance ensembles in history - and certainly the first of its intended scope and kind. Bama Baroque offers historically informed performances of Baroque and 17th- and 18th-century folk music on period instruments. With this unique blend of artistry and tradition, Bama Baroque seeks to connect with Alabama audiences in a way that feels both inspiring and familiar, while celebrating the state’s rich folk heritage. Bama Baroque is dedicated to accessibility, inclusivity, and community outreach, aspiring to become a cherished cornerstone of Alabama’s musical landscape.

Highlights have included solo appearances such as Vivaldi’s Violin Concerto in E-flat “La Tempesta di Mare,” RV 25 in February and a well-received performance of works in the stylus phantasticus for the Historical Keyboard Society of North America’s national conference in May. In March, she proudly organized and performed in the inaugural concert of Bama Baroque, which she co-founded alongside harpsichordist Dr. Michael Delfin, delivering Alabama a much-needed new voice in historical performance.
Lindsey’s Fall 2025 season promises to be just as busy and fulfilling. See the full schedule below:
